Writing and Export Checks
Scholardo checks the mechanics of a draft against your project sources before export. It can flag broken references; it cannot decide whether your argument is correct or your paper is ready for acceptance.
What a check can find
- Citation keys that do not resolve in the document's bibliography.
- Page numbers outside the cited local file.
- Quotations, figures or numbers without a recorded source.
- References with no record of reading in Scholardo. That is not proof you never read them elsewhere.
A source anchor records where a claim is said to come from. It is a declaration, not proof that the source supports the claim.
Review before export
Draft in Workspace, using works from your reference library. Run the check and inspect each issue and its source. Correct the draft and run it again after changes. Read the report's skipped checks as well as its counts.
Report or block
| Mode | Export behavior |
|---|---|
| Report, the default | Shows findings and allows export |
| Block | Problems require a written reason before export; reasons are dated and recorded beside the file |
The check record identifies the rule set, text hash and results, including checks that did not run. It describes what was checked, not a certification of the work.
Local checks and online registry lookup
Mechanical checks run locally without a model. In academic projects, DOI registry checks require project permission for the external lookup. A registry response is not an assessment of the whole work.
What to verify yourself
Read the cited passage, confirm the quotation and reasoning, and review methods, statistical interpretation and journal requirements. PDF, Word and LaTeX exports still need a final visual and editorial review.
